Rome’s Jewish Ghetto & Roman Jewish Cuisine

Join your trained & passionate expert on Roman food, history and culture, as she leads you through the Roman Jewish community. She will share her knowledge and addresses for the best food in this special historic neighborhood. During the Jewish Ghetto walk you will experience the unmatchable atmosphere of the Ghetto by observing the buildings, monuments, and various food establishments as we discuss the history of the Ghetto itself as well as Roman Jewish cuisine. You will taste specialties such as pizza ebraica, carciofi alla giudia and much more. Our walk will be followed by an annotated lunch at a Kosher restaurant where you will enjoy some of the best Roman Jewish dishes. With its prime location, top ingredients and extensive menu of favorite Roman Jewish dishes, this restaurant is one of the best places to get acquainted with traditional Roman-Jewish cuisine. The breadth of the menu provides your guide with a multitude of choices in her explanations of the finer points of Roman-Jewish cuisine.

This tour is given Monday-Friday and Sundays (except when there is a holiday) and can either be 2-hours with just tastings or 3-hours with a wonderful Roman-Jewish lunch included.
