Carrara & Colonnata

We start with a mid afternoon visit to the medieval village of Colonnata that is built between and on top of actual marble mountains. The village is famous for its “lardo”, also known as the “Butter of Tuscany”, and we will enjoy a light lunch of the local cuisine. Afterward, you will be given a tour and look into the an actual marble cave and learn about the incredible and hard work that goes into one of the most sought after natural resources in the world.
